Snowboarding & Surfing In Hawaii?
Snowboarding or Skiing and Surfing in Hawaii?
Snowboarding or Skiing in Hawaii in the morning and sun and fun on the beach in the afternoon? Well yes there is the so called Pineapple Powder in the wintertime on the Hawaiian Volcano Mauna Kea also called the White Mountain, so yes you can do it! Mauna Kea on top is is 4205 Meters above sea level and in the right conditions on winter time there is snow and yes skiing or snowboarding is possible there. Now there are no ski lifts and no special ski facilities so you best go with a local guide and there is only a stoney road leading up there. So only 4wheel vehicles will make that trip!
But then you reach the top of Paradise and ski or snowboard towards the deep blue Pacific, this will be an unforgettable adventure not many undertake so why wait get there and get going. And of course in the afternoon ready for surfing the big waves and having a good time on the sunny beach! Now can life get any better? Well you tell me! The cones are surrounded by lava flows that erupted from their flanks. When the youngest glacier covered the summit area 40,000 to 13,000 years ago, several eruptions took place beneath the ice. Most of the cones visible today on Mauna Kea were erupted between about 65,000 and 14,000 years ago. — USGS
